Swimming & Sunglasses

Well last time we took Porter swimming, he was far less than impressed. So with the weather warmer it allowed the pool to reach a more tolerable level of warmth. So we packed up and headed back to the pool to see if our little Po-Po would now enjoy swimming more.

As I walked out the door I noticed a pair of cheesy, yet very cute, sunglasses my mom had bought Porter at a yard sale back when I was pregnant. So I though 'what the heck'! I put them on him thinking he would fuss and remove them IMMEDIATELY...however it was the exact opposite. He LOVED the sunglasses and actually fussed when I took them off in the water. So we went on with our swimming adventure while Porter modeled the now cutest sunglasses in the world!! It made Kameron and I laugh so hard when he started doing his WHOOO WHOO WHOO sounds that he makes when he gets excited! I stood by the fountain and he put his hands and feet in the water running down while making this noise and Kameron and I cracking up. (I am sure everyone there could tell that we were first time parents!) Anyways, I just wanted to share with everyone the most adorable little guy in sunglasses. There was also a little girl there that took a fastination to Porter....little Lady Killer!! I am so glad he loves to swim because that means its 2 to 1 against daddy who doesnt really love swimming, but admitted when we were at the pool that it was a good idea to swim and he was glad he came up with it!! =P

Porter's 4 Month Check Up

Well we had Porter's 4 month check up yesterday! He weights 17 pounds and is 25 3/4 inches long. I cant believe he has grown 7 inches since he was born! CRAZY! I thought we were going to have a munchkin child, however he is in the 95th percentile for weight and 90th for height. He's a tank! He also had to get his shots. =( It was really sad. When the lady poked him the first time his eyes got all big, he pouted his lip, turned bright red and started screaming. Then he got poked 2 more times. I tried to calm him down, but it was nearly impossible. Hunger on top of being stabbed with needles, I cant imagine I would be very happy either. haha. So on the way out I was trying to calm him and check out scheduling his next appt at the same time, but he was screaming so loud I couldnt hear the receptionist and he was scaring the little children in the waiting room. So I took whatever appt and went on my way. He calmed down in the car and fell asleep. He was such a trooper, and wasnt very fussy the rest of the day! Now all he has are the battle wounds on his little legs with little bruises around each shot! Ouch! Only two more months and he can start eating fruits and veggies...CANT WAIT! Kameron cant wait to see him make a mess of himself! Here are a couple pictues I took of him before we left for the appt...note: he was happy with no idea what was ahead!! =)

Sierra Vista Weekend

So we just got back from our weekend in Sierra Vista. We went down for an old family friend's wedding open house/reception. It was so fun to see old friends that are practically family and hang out in the great cool weather. We left friday around noon and got into town in time to show Porter off to all the ladies at my mom's work. Then we went to the reception that night. My brother and his family came down and I finally got to see my new little niece Jadie Lynn Gonzalez! She is SO tiny, but is cute as can be and looks just like Bailee and Lexi her older sisters.

On saturday morning Kameron and I got up and went garage selling with my parents. We had a mission to find a baby excersaucer, for Porter to stand and play in. Well, guess what?! We found one. My mom saw it and bought it before Kameron and I met up with them. I had been looking at them and the cheapest one was around $40 at Wal-Mart. Well my mom got a screamin deal and only paid a dollar!! I couldnt believe it. And it was in pretty good shape too. There was one little thing broken on it, but Kameron being the handyman he is...fixed it in minutes! So Porter is loving his new found freedom and I will have to take pictures and post them later. Then Kameron spent the day helping my dad in the yard weed wacking all afternoon while my mom, sister-in-law and I went to the mall. It was so fun to just hang out with the girls.

Then saturday night we treated ourselves to a night out. Since we have had the baby, we have been adjusting to the whole one income, new house, and new baby thing, and it hasnt been all that easy. So we have been watching every penny. Well Kameron and I decided that we deserved to go out to eat. We hadnt treated ourselves in months. So we went to Outback with another couple and their baby. It was fun to talk and enjoy the delicious food we love so much. Then the plan was to take the baby home and put him to bed and my mom and dad would listen for him so Kameron and I could go see the Bourne Ultimatum. Well being the old marrieds that we are...we were too tired by the time we got hime we just went to bed. After all it was like 8:30 when we got home from dinner. haha

Well I have rambled on enough! We had a great weekend in the cool weather and enjoyed spending the weekend with my family and eating my mom's yummy cooking. Then when leaving Kameron and I dreamed that one day going home will be to Sierra Vista. Kameron has decided that when he graduates in two years...we are moving there no matter what! He does have a job that looks pretty promising waiting for him! YEAH! I cant wait!

Okay, so Jessica tagged me so I guess its my turn. Here goes my list of 10 things "I Cant Wait" for...

1.) Kameron to be done with school! He has his AA, and is working towards his bachelors, and then on to his masters. So we are looking at about another 2 1/2 years, but it will be completely worth while when he is done.

2.) For it to not be so DANG hot! I absolutely loath the heat here in the valley. It makes a simple trip to the grocery store or to Sam's Club (which I love going to) so miserable. Then Porter just sits there and baths in his own sweat because his carseat is so snug around him, but its not like I can leave the carseat in the car because it will be like setting the kid in a microwave.

3.) To move to Sierra Vista. When Kameron is all done with school and he can apply for other jobs, we really want to end up in Sierra Vista. I love it there. My parents are there, one of my best friends and her husband just moved there...its just a great place to live. Its not hot like the valley, and not cold like the mountains. Its small enough to be small, yet big enough to go to Outback or Chili's or the Mall if you want to. Its just right!!(sounds like the 3 little bears huh?! haha)

4.) Porter to finish teething. The poor little guy is in all sorts of pain breaking 3 teeth at the same time. And at such a young age.

5.)Finish decorating my house. We still have to do our bedroom, and the one of the spare rooms. Not to mention when we will be able to redo our counter tops and kitchen floor.

6.) For Porter to be big enough to say mama and dada. He is so cute that I just cant wait to see what his little personality really is like. I think he will be just like his dad, goofy, outgoing, and genuine. Atleast I can hope.

7.) For the day when me and all my best friends can go to the temple together. All but one are married, so as soon as she is, a group trip to the temple for a session, and then off to Rocky Point!! I just think it would be so awesome to be sitting there with your life long friends whom I love as sisters and their husbands, doing the most important work on this earth. The temple is an amazing place, and with people you love with you makes it all the more special.

8.) For all my friends to have kids...girls you know who you are. I love being a mommy and I know that they will all be great mommies too. I am so excited for our kids to play together and be the best of friends.

9.) When Kameron and I get to serve a mission together. Kameron keeps preping me that we are going to Brazil. haha Maybe I should start learning the Portugese now. I havent gone on a mission, but all the wonderful experiences Kameron had on his, makes me so excited to serve, and more so to serve with my eternal honey!!

10.) Watch my children grow and have families of their own. To see the lords plan full circle. Kameron said when talking about Porter and our future children, "this is what its all about." How true this is. I just hope that I can lead and direct them in the right direction. It scares me to death with the world the way it is, but if I do all I can for them, I will be blessed in the end.

My Celebrity Look-A-Like

Okay, so I was a little bored and did this Celebrity look-a-like thing. (Dont worry I have an interview tomorrow to get a job as a nanny, so I dont spend my days doing crap like this!!) People have told me that I look like Jessica Alba, and I dont ever believe them. Because of course I would LOVE to look just like her, but I just have never seen it. But this thing says I really do, so who knows. Its just fun to see who comes up.

Battle Wounds

So in an attempt to bring in some extra money, Kameron has gotten a second part time job. He is a Administrative Handyman for a Home and Automobile division. So in other words he is a maintenance man for an RV and trailer park!! haha Its not exactly a glorified position, but it pays pretty good and he only has to work a few hours a week doing super easy things like installing air conditioners and changing light bulbs. But I never thought it would be dangerous!! These are marks from Kameron second day on the job!! When he was changing out the air conditioner, the old one slipped out of the window and fell...and every other person would let the old piece of junk fall to its fate...NOT KAMERON. Being the warrior he is, he tried to catch it and this is what it left him with. It looks pretty nasty and he is pretty sore, but he managed to finish the job and change the baby's dirty diaper when he got home. Nothing slows him down. And in his words, "It's still connected and still works." Such a manly man!!

7 Random Facts

Okay so here we go....

1.) I LOVE walking around model homes! Not that I am going to buy another house, I just like seeing the different floor plans and of course....the color schemes and decor ideas. I love putting together a bunch of ideas and making it into my own work of art.

2.) I love going for walks. Every night Kameron and I take Porter for a walk around the neighborhood. Its a great time for Kameron and I to talk and catch up on our day. And of course our little Po-Po LOVES being outside.

3.) I am SUPER paranoid in cars. I hate it. Whenever we are driving I feel like every crazy driver is going to run into us. I guess its from being rear ended 2 times the last month of my pregnancy! And being in the craziest dust storm I have EVER seen in my life a month or so ago...I thought we were gonna crash..we almost did, but made it my the skin of our teeth and Kameron was able to pull off the road safely!! I have gotten a lot worse now that my little baby is in the car with us too!

4.) One of my biggest pet peeves, are when people tell you they are going to do something....then dont deliver!! If I say I am going to call you, or make plans to do something, I do it. I dont plan something else over it just because something else may have come up. It would have to be VERY important for me to break a promise. There is nothing more irritating than someone telling you they want to do something...then back out at the last minute. I am a HUGE planner, I dont like last minute surprises.

5.) Whatever you do...do NOT wake me up in an annoying way! I am not a morning person AT ALL, so if you dont want me to bite your head off...watch what you say to me in the morning. I have been trying very hard to work on this, and Kameron can vouch for me that I am getting a lot better. Growing up I had a brother who would come and jump onto my bed or pull the blankets off me to wake me up...Bad Idea! But the worst of all...I HATE HATE HATE the light being turned on when I am sleeping. If you really want me to wake up and get out of bed, shake me softly or rub my back. Because if you try to get me out of bed the other way...you wont have much luck.

6.) I do not like being rushed. Especially to church. I dont like being reminded how much time I have left before we have to leave. "Gina we have to leave in 10 minutes...Gina we have to leave in 5 minutes" there is no need to tell me how much longer I have if its gonna take me another 8 minutes to get ready! My dad used to stand at the stairs and scream "LETS GO!" when I was trying to get ready, or ask me obvious questions like..."Are you ready to go?" as I am standing in a towel not dressed. Obviously NO I am not ready yet. I think my brother and dad ruined me for life when it comes to these things. haha

7.) I love making new projects for myself. Kameron dreads hearing "I have an idea!" Because he knows that whatever I am thinking...its not likely something that I can do by myself and I need his help! I have said that phrase twice this weekend...and both my ideas involve sanding and painting both our little kitchen table and our bedroom set! BIG projects. I love decorating, but we dont have the money for it, so as long as I keep it cheap and do things that only cost getting a can of paint and I have a whole new room its acceptable.

Anyways, there you go. Some random things about me. I know I am a little weird, but hey who isnt!!

Sleepy Boy!

On wednesday Kameron and I went for a walk around the neighborhood as we usually do. We normally just walk around the block because we dont want to be too far from home if it starts to rain...as it usually does. But this day it didnt look like it was likely to rain so we walked across the development. Porter was awake and loving the ride jabbering his baby talk as he usually does. We were walking around and realized he wasnt talking anymore, or kicking his feet (which anyone who has met the kid can vouch that he NEVER stops moving). Which meant one thing....he was asleep. Our long walk had put him to sleep. He looked so cute crashed out in his stroller. Kameron and I just cant get over how big he is getting..already sitting up in his stroller looking around like a big boy! We just love this little boy to pieces and he is getting funnier and funnier everyday as his little personality emerges. I have the feeling that he is going to be quite the character.

And aside from that...check out his shoes!! I saw them at WalMart on sale and I just could NOT help myself! They were so adorable and the minute I put them on his little feet...they became even more adorable. There was no way I could walk out of that store without them. He is one stylish stud!!!

Ice Cream & The Park

Everyday Kameron and I are trying to make the most of being a family. I have made it my personal goal to have plenty of "family time". We have been going for walks around the neighborhood, which Porter LOVES, going swimming, and yesterday we went for ice cream and layed on a blanket in Pacana Park next to the lake. Porter loves being outdoors, so he layed there smiling being so content. It was fun to just sit around and talk and just play with the baby as a family. With Kameron working so much lately we havent had as much time together as we would like, but we have been lucky enough to have him home a lot the past week and we are taking advantage of every moment.
We got in as many pictures as we could before the rain sent us home. I was sad we werent able to lay there longer!! But the land needs moisture as Kameron reminded me when I complained it was "ruining family time".
When we got home we were looking at all the pictures we had taken and realized we had some VERY cute ones on our hands. Kameron and I have a very bad habit of taking LOTS of really cute pictures, but loading them into the computer and never printing them out. So we got back in the car and drove to Walgreens to print out come pictures. I had never done this before, and it was SO easy. You just plug in your chip and BAM...there are all your pictures and you just touch all the ones you want. It was great! So Kameron and I chose all the cute ones that we wanted and while it took 45 minutes to print them out, we walked down the strip of stores across the street. It was fun to just walk around with no rhym or reason. Anyways, we got home and instantly seperated pictures (to mail to grandma and grammy) and put a couple pictures in frames for Kameron to take to work. Life is great and as Kameron said last night as he looked at the pictures...."Our life is PERFECT!" We are truely blessed.

This is Porter's first taste of Ice cream!!! I LOVE ice cream..especially from Dairy Queen. I have been super paranoid about giving him "big people" food. Kameron was very proud of me that I have finally let him taste something other than yucky formula!
