Splish...Splash!!!

Last saturday Kameron and I decided to take Porter for his FIRST trip to the pool. He absolutely loves taking baths, splashing around with his legs and getting mommy all wet. So naturally I thought he wouldn't be able to get enough of the pool. He didnt hate it, only fussed for a second when we first got in. However he is his mother's son and he did not enjoy how cold the water was. C'mon its like a million degrees everyday, you would think that pool water would get relatively warm....well not our pool. Its HUGE, so it will take a few months after the monsoons are gone to warm up. But after we finally got him in he did smile a little. I'll admit, I was a little disappointed thinking he would go crazy and laugh and squak like he did when we put him on the go cart. No such luck. Maybe next time he will love it more. But we just walked around in the shallow end and let him put his hands in the rock waterfalls that run into the pool and stood under the sprayer off the side of the pool. He seemed to enjoy himself enough not to complain at all. Porter did start enjoying himself more towards the end standing up on my legs over and over in a bouncing fashion. BUT OF COURSE, our camera had died by then and we couldnt take any other pictures including how cute he looked when we put his little hippo towel around his head when we got out. O'well, there is plenty more sun out there and I am sure we will be going back soon! I love summer and swimming and cant wait to take Porter and Kameron back for some more summer family fun!!
The moment of truth....about to get in the water!
My boys....in desperate need of some sun!!!

Not sure what to make of the water spraying his face.

24th Celebration

This past weekend Kameron and I packed up our little family and headed up north to St Johns for the annual 24th Celebration. After a long ride up there having to stop for both a terrible accident and a train, we finally made it there. Friday was filled with buggie rides and spending time with family at home, at the campfire circle, and ending with everyone dancing (even Porter) at the dance. We never did make it to the rodeos, we were busy hanging out and Kameron being the wonderful husband he is, watched Porter so I could go play volleyball for a few hours. Although I was completely sore and a little bruised, I had a blast and every pain was so worth it. We enjoyed just hanging out with family and enjoying a break from the hustle and bustle of our busy life.

Porter loved being outside and especially LOVED riding the buggie. He was so funny making noises and smiling so huge. He is definately his father's son!! I love how curious he is and its so much fun to watch as they grow and discover everything around them. Porter was definately spoiled this past weekend with grandma and Aunt Kamarie always playing with him, he learned pretty quickly that if he made a squeak everyone was right there ready to play and hold him. Babies are definately smarter than we give them credit for. But it was so fun getting away and I cant wait until next year when Porter can run around and really enjoy all the wonderful things that the 24th has to offer.

Sitting Up All by Myself!

Porter absolutely loved sitting up by himself. He has been trying since the day he was born to sit up, crawl, and even stand up in our lap. He was all smiles and laughs the minute I set him down. It was as if all his efforts had been completed and he did it, he was finally sitting up on his own! I know there are a lot of pictures, but like every other first time mom...everything he does is just SO CUTE. So I am having fun loading my computer with more and more pictures of him. But he is growing so fast I dont want to miss a moment, or a "first" anything. He has also started teething, which explains the drool all over his face! But he has been a trooper and hasnt been too fussy. Porter is continuing to still resemble daddy, but as he is growing he is also starting to develope his own look. Either way he is still one heck of a good lookin kid. Babies are such a blessing and I am so glad that Kameron and I are able to have such a good and healthy baby boy. (He definately doesnt look like he is starving!=) So life is great in the Lee household, and will be even better next week when Kameron finishes up his degree and has 3 weeks off school. VERY EXCITING!! Porter and I both cant wait to have him home more.
Whatcha lookin' at?
SOOO HANDSOME!!
Chris Farley look alike! Maybe its just the double chin! =)
He has Kameron's "Ear to Ear" smile...or as we call it...The Joker!!

4th of July Weekend in Pine Top

We had a great 4th of July weekend. Kameron, Porter and I traveled up to Pine Top for a relaxing weekend at my parents cabin. My aunt and uncle were there from Utah along with some old family friends from Mesa and my parents. It was so much fun to just hang out and visit with everyone. Porter absulutely loved being outside swinging on the porch. He and I also went for a little walk down the street, which he loved. It wasnt a long walk though because I was carrying him and he is quite the little chunk now. We made a trip into Show Low to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Lee, and also went antique shopping looking for an iron wall hanging I want to make into a piece of art in my efforts for my "home decor makeover" I am in the middle of. So Porter has been to literally every antique store in the Show Low Pine Top area. We didnt have any luck, but we did have fun doing it. The rest of our weekend was spent relaxing and eating delicious food my mom so generously cooked for everyone to enjoy. I wish I had half her talent in the kitchen. On saturday morning we also joined my parents in their weekend garage sale adventure. I was excited because I found this cute little dresser for Porter's room that I am going to paint lime green to match. So all in all it was a great weekend, and we were all sad when we had to come home. The weather was so beautiful we spend every evening sitting on the front porch just visiting and enjoying the cool air. Living in the valley of the sun, that isnt something that we get to enjoy here. Now we are back to work and living in the horrible heat, but we are looking forward to our next trip to St Johns for the 24th. I cant wait til next year when Porter can actually enjoy all the animals and parade and all the great stuff the 24th has to offer. I hope everyone else had a great 4th of July weekend as well!
An old family friend Ivan Huish had a way of putting Porter right to sleep!

Porter's Upper GI

It has been a crazy past week! Kameron and I have been painting our house like crazy, Kameron has helped his sister and my brother move..and Porter had to have an Upper GI performed. It was the most nerve wrecking thing taking him to the hospital for this. He has had some spit up issues with the projectile vomiting, so the doctor wanted to make sure that what he had was the reflux. They had to lay him on this little board thing and strap him down. Then they had to pin his little arms up by his head and strap these things around his forehead to keep them in place and bring this big machine over top of him. It was SO sad, but he was tough. He cried a little, but I was right there rubbing his forehead so he knew I was there. Then I had to feed him this stuff that blocks the Xray, and we watched the liquid go all the way down to his little tummy. It was really neat to see how it all goes down and we saw his little bones in the Xray. Porter didnt cry at all, he just drank what they gave him and actually fell asleep. THANK GOODNESS! Because I was SO scared he was going to scream so bad I would have to leave the room. I cried when he had his two month shots done, I just knew listening to him scream wouldnt be something I could handle. But he was such a little trooper. It was confirmed that he did have reflux, so I am awaiting a phone call from the doctor to see what the next step is. Hopefully we can switch to a cheaper formula since the problem isnt the cows protien that we first thought it to be. Not having to spend $75 a week on formula will save us a LOT of money. So it wasnt the huge tramatic experience I thought it might be. It was actually very simple and my little warrior did great. Of course Kameron was there too, in case I couldnt handle it he could stay with Porter. Dads are much better at that. So anyways, I am so proud of Porter and how strong he was through that ordeal, I am sure it wasnt fun.
Also, Kameron and I got a phone call saturday afternoon that the Stake President wanted to meet with us. Uh-Oh, is what we thought. There is only one reason for a Stake President wanting to meet with you....Someone was getting a calling. I rested assured because they asked for Kameron when they called. Wheew! It wasnt for me. =) So we left Tucson from helping my brother move that evening and drove to the meeting. Kameron is now in the Elders Quorum Presidency. Its a big calling and I never see him now as it is with him working so much, but I know that there will be blessings from his service. So we are excited for this new step in our lives. We have only been in this ward for a few months and this is already Kameron's second calling. In a ward of a thousand people, I thought we would be invisible but with Kameron's strong testimony, spirit, and leadership quality, we are always bound to stand out. After me being in the RS presidency in our last ward I am really excited for Kameron to experience the blessing in serving in such an important calling.
Well this is long I know, but we have had kind of a crazy week. And off to Pine Top for 4th of July with my family, I cant wait!! It will be a relaxing trip and a break from this horrible heat!! Happy 4th of July everyone!!
