Our little Cheeseball!

We had family pictures done a couple weeks ago, and I loved how they turned out. Mainly because Porter's little personality came through in spades!! They just show how much of a ham this kid is!! Since we arent sending out Christmas Cards this year, I thought I would post them for everyone to see.

They were all so cute, it was really hard to pick favorites! And its so weird to think that the next family picture session will involve another baby! Hope everyone has a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving weekend!!!

Chicks Dig It...

This past weekend was a busy one. Kameron graduated friday (see previous post), we had a Thanksgiving Dinner saturday so my sister could be there, and then Sunday was my first day as a "single" mom at church, because it was Kameron's first day of Post. Things went great, Porter was an angel, his teacher told me he was one of the best kids in class, and he took a nice long nap. When Kameron got home, it seemed to fall apart. I noticed Porter had a white puss looking bump on his foot, and Kameron being the surgeon he is messed with it and we found a HUGE splinter that had been stuck there for who knows how long. Porter was such a trooper and didnt even fuss while we were poking and squeezing at his foot. Then Kameron got a call and had to go Home teaching, so I turned on a movie because it was almost Porter's bedtime so that he can calm down. Anyone that knows him, knows that he is always going 100mph.

While we were "settling down" Porter was jumping on and off my lap and managed to hit me right in the nose...causing my eyes to water. While I am grabbing my face making sure I dont start bleeding, Porter lost his balance and before I could catch him he fell off the couch....and INTO a big wooden chest we have in front of the couch! Blood started to gush, so I grabbed him and ran him to the bathroom....my blue and WHITE bathroom. He bled on my WHITE rug, and I grabbed the closest towel to me to try and stop the bleeding and yep...you guessed it, it was WHITE. Not to mention my shirt that was also WHITE, was now covered in blood. I couldnt get a hold of Kameron and he had take my car, so my wonderful friend and neighbor raced out of the house and took me to Urgent Care, where Kameron showed up right after. I was nervous because his eyes were dilated at home, but when we got there they were normal and he was acting totally fine....besides the blood covered diaper and mother. Anyways, here is the lovely flesh wound, the gash was actually as big as it looks...the red part is where it was open...the blood was no longer dripping at this point. Poor kid!

He didnt seem to mind that his head was split open, and he just ran around and played and played. Until....the Dr. came in. He needed stitches. It was the most horrible thing EVER to watch him have to get them. I have never heard the kid scream like that. I am sure I am not the first mom to cry and leave the room because I couldnt handle the needles and those poor little tear filled eyes wanting me to rescue him. I felt so helpless. I was so grateful for Daddy being there so I could wander the hallways and try to not hear him....(which was impossible...he was SO LOUD). Right after though I gave him a sucker for being so brave and he was as happy as can be. Like nothing had happened. He even waved bye bye to the Dr and nurses, who were wrapped around his little finger already! He manages to do that to people!

He was perfectly happy when we got home, as if we had never left. I think the whole event was worse on me than it was on him. And his perfect little face wont be flawless anymore, but as the nurse said..."Its Rugged"! And I laughed and said "Yeah, Chicks Dig it". Although he will most likely get a scar, he is still the most handsome little man ever, and I am so proud of how brave he was through the whole ordeal. I am surprised it has taken this long for Porter to need stitches, and I am sure it wont be the last time either. So for now...4 stitches down...who knows how many to go!

The Beginning of a Career!

We made it. Kameron graduated last Friday and was sworn in as an officer! This is all of the DPS recruits in his class. Note: Kameron is one of the tall ones!! We dont get to say that very often!

Kameron marching the flag out before the Flag Detail.

Kameron standing stiff for several minutes waiting for the other classes ready to raise the flag!

Being sworn in, and those are his Sargeants standing next to and behind him.

After the graduation. Look how cute my nana is waving to the camera. haha.

Porter and Daddy after the Flag Ceremony.

Another one of them, just too precious not to add!! Plus, as my Nana said, Kameron looks VERY Guapo (Handsome) in uniform!

Me pinning Kameron's badge on him. The little bugger was tricky to open!

Porter kept touching Kameron's badge, it was really cute!

And our little family after the actual graduation and pinning ceremonies. I will admit I did get a little teary eyed when they were talking about how he was part of the best class to go through this academy. With the scoring in all areas they blew away their Seargant and FTO's, not to mention beat them in the shoot out at the range AND in sand volleyball! haha. I am just so proud of Kameron and all the hard work he did to support our growing little family. The police academy is no easy thing, but he made it through with flying colors and an A+ average!! We're so proud of you babe, and congratulations....You earned it!
We ended our evening eating at Pei Wei's, thanks to all the family and friends that drove so far for his special day. It meant a lot to us to have such a big support. We are very blessed to call you friends and family!

Kameron & Brant...we missed you!

Tuesday I took a much needed trip to the Temple. I met my friend Kacy for lunch and a session. But when we got to the Temple they asked if we were willing to do Sealings instead, so even though neither of us had ever done them without our husbands, we thought, sure why not! Little did I know how...I'll say interesting... it was was going to be. I got paired with an older man that was (as Kacy called him) a Starrer! Because through out the multiple Sealings, he was practically burning a hole through my head. I felt terrible that I felt so awkward, but I dont like being stared at no matter where I am. So anyways, I made it through, and Kacy had a really good laugh about it after. I am glad she was able to keep her composure through my awkward ordeal (although, she did say it was tough) because I probably would have laughed if she had. It may have been one of those, "You had to be there moments", but it was incredibly hilarious!! We definately missed our husbands, and I will without a doubt be taking Kameron with me next time!! Thanks Kacy for yet another fun, AND MEMORABLE get together. I was so grateful to go to the Temple though and thanks to my neighbor who watched Porter to make that possible.

And on another note, here are just some cute pictures from the week.

Porter LOVES football, its as good as Cartoons to him. And you're not a true redneck football fan if you dont go shirtless and show a little crack, right? haha.

And Porter also LOVES to brush his teeth! Shoot, so would I if I had watermelon toothpaste.

P.s. And YES, I did cut my hair if you were wondering. 5 1/2 inches to be exact. Short hair is just 10 times easier, and I love it. Thanks Jayna!!

The BIG 14!

So I now believe that I have jinxed myself!! In a previous post I thought it would be a while before I "popped" if you will, however it happened MUCH sooner than I had thought. It was seriously like I woke up and there it was....3 months sooner than the last time. This pregnancy is SOO far opposite from mine with Porter! With Porter I wasnt sick, broke out really bad, and my behind was the first thing to get bigger, therefore sending my pre-pregnancy jeans to the shelf for a few months. This pregnancy, sick as a dog, no break outs (not that I'm complaining about this one!!!), and I am still wearing my regular jeans...buttoned and all. Its my belly that is growing first. WHAT?? Kameron explained that I shouldnt be worried...its just that my stomach isnt as "tight" as it was pre-babies! How sweet huh?! I think he meant that as comfort. haha. Anyways, that really didnt offend me, I know its the truth. But just for interest's sake...let me show you a picture of me at 32 weeks with Porter...
Yeah, thats me 8 weeks out with Porter...disgusting isnt it?? I am already half of that at barely 14 weeks. Maybe I wont swell with this one...a girl can hope cant she?? Everyone swears up and down that I am having a girl...but I really dont. I want a girl, dont get me wrong...but I think that is why I am going to have another boy. haha. I'm just not that lucky! A boy would be ideal for Porter though, so I will be SO excited for him to have a brother. Only 4ish weeks left before I find out, so I guess I can wait. Anyways, I have heard that everyone gets bigger faster with every kid so this is normal...so now that I feel better. I think I'll go have a donut!....Kidding...(kind of!)

I was tagged by Teri, and what you do is open the 4th file and upload the 4th picture. This is what I got.
This was around Easter time and Porter was breaking his molars, so I gave him an ottor pop to chew on to help his gums! I didnt have anything else cold to let him chew on. And dont worry...I made him stay on the kitchen floor in case it broke!

Home Sweet Home!

This past weekend we were able to make a trip home to Sierra Vista. Although Kameron isnt from there, we both love it and it just feels like home to us. We can't wait for the day we are able to move there and officially make it our Home Sweet Home! Kameron decided that it had been long enough and said we should go down there this weekend, and obviously I wont argue with the chance to hang out with my parents for the weekend. So I packed our bags and literally the minute Kam got home on friday I loaded the car and 10 minutes later we were on the road! We had so much fun. Porter absolutely loves Grammy and Tata. I made the mistake of telling him we were going a couple days before we left, and all he could say was "See TaTa! See TaTa!" until we arrived at their house. It was really cute. Saturday morning TaTa took Porter out to the Grandkid's Clubhouse, which is a big swingset slide playground my dad has out by their creek. Porter loved the slide and would fly off the end but he has no fear and kept climbing up and sliding down. We also walked the trail along the creek. Then later that day my Dad and Kameron went to Douglas for a funeral while me and my mom did what we do best...went Shopping!

Here is Porter enjoying the kid play area at the Mall!

He rode the Firetruck!

And the Police Motorcycle!

And of course had to go on a Safari ride! He would get so mad when they were over and try to shake it to make it move again! haha

Porter playing Peek-A-Boo with TaTa at dinner! Outback....YUMM-O!!

There's no skimping breafast at Grammy's! Toast, granola yogurt, oranges, and more!

Kameron doing what he does best in Sierra Vista....Relax and watch football!

My hilarious 90 year old Nana! I dont have enough room on my blog to tell you all the side splitting stories about this woman, but if you want to know just ask...be prepared to pee your pants form laughter! She is 80% of our entertainment while we are there!! Gotta love her!

TaTa playing with Porter out back. He loves it because its play play play with Grammy and TaTa!

And here he is getting all cozy with his blankie on the way home watching his movie!

We did get to go visit with my friend Marlee and Spencer, for the second weekend in a row...which in unheard of with our busy lives. But we had fun staying up late and laughing. Thanks for having us over! And thanks to my parents for the fun weekend and for all you do!! We love you guys!

Damage Control...

Okay so this is seriously going to be my next step!! No this is not a picture of Porter...however...this WILL be him tonight! He has been taking his clothes off for the past month or so whenever he was playing in his crib before or after a nap or in the morning...but it always stopped at that. UNTIL....two days ago!!! For the second morning in a row he has decided to take off all of his clothes, AND diaper after having a MAJOR blowout! (thanks to his two year molars breaking through!!!) Sheets, blakets, crib, self....everything covered in a not so sweet smelling surprise! If he would just cry to let me know he wants changed or to tell me he is AWAKE, I would get to it before he made such a massive mess. And that would keep me from having to scrub lovely baby streams of you know what off the carpet!! This looks a little inhumane, but if duct tape will prevent such a disgusting disaster that makes me want to add to the mess, then it seems very worth it! I have heard of kids doing this, and I had hoped to avoid it. But on the bright side, atleast he cant climb out of his crib yet...so the damage is atleast contained to a small area. If anyone has advise for this horrendous stage he is going through, I would appreciate it. And no, shipping him off til he is potty trained isnt really an option...though the thought did cross my mind while I was scrubing away this morning....

18 Months AND Counting!!

I know Porter is like 18 1/2 months now, but we had to push back his Well check because of the whole car situation we had been dealing with a couple weeks ago. So Halloween I took him in for his check, and he was a whopping 26 pounds and 34 inches long! Where did my baby go!! He is dead average with the 50th and 55th percentile for weight and height. Big change from the 95th he was for his first year. I guess he will slow down from here. He is getting better and better with Nursery! Still cries when we drop him off, but it lasts all of 2 seconds and then he is off chasing the bubbles. His vocab has grown so much over the past couple months too. It seems like he learns a new word everyday. His new favorite thing is FOOTBALL!! He has loved football since he was little...he would watch it as a baby..but now anytime you turn the TV to a football game he will freak out and jump around excited like screaming "Football Football!!!" Recently I turned it to the Suns game and he said "Baketball!" I didnt even know the kid knew what basketball was. I guess we have a little Future All-Star on our hands! Kameron loves it and always says how he cant wait to take Porter to a game! Funny story, we were sitting in conference last sunday and all of a sudden he gets all excited and starts yelling "BAKETBALL!! BAKETBALL!!" and it took me a minute to realize he was pointing up to the basketball net above us in the gym. haha. He was so excited to see sports in church I guess. And his new thing isnt 'Bye Bye" anymore...its "See Ya!" So as I am taking him out of Sacrament meeting because he was throwing a fit, he yells to the back row as we are walking out "BYE SEE YA!!" I think everyone got a kick out of it. He is the funnest, and craziest little boy, but we sure love him and I am so grateful that I get to call this hilarious little boy my son! He is so energetic and loves to show off when all eyes are on him. Definately the life of the party! Wonder where he gets that?? No comment! I can't believe my little boy has grown so fast, but I look forward to all the funny things he says everyday and will continue to learn. Sure makes life interesting!

On another note, I have had alot of people ask me how far along I am, or if I have been sick, and so on...so since I really didnt say before, I thought I would answer everyone at once. I am about 12 weeks. I was hoping the being sick would officially end by now...but its holding strong. I feel a lot better than I did the first couple months, but I still feel nausous a lot during the day, and still finding it hard to have an appetite. Only when I crave something, I can eat it all. Its really annoying! This is very different from my pregnancy with Porter...not being sick at all. I have had people tell me they are waiting for me to show, but dont really expect a belly/or a belly pic for a while, if its anything like my first pregnancy...its gonna be a while. I didnt show until about 7 months with Porter. I am sure it will happen sooner with this one being my second, but still I have a couple months before anything starts growing. Thank goodness, I am not ready to say goodbye to my normal clothes just yet. I am really excited, and cant wait for Porter to get to the point where he understands he isnt going to rule the roost anymore. As far as boy or girl goes, I dont really care this time. A boy would be great because Porter needs a brother to wrestle with, but a girl would be fun too. I hope I get atleast one girl before I am done having kids. Everyone who knows me can attest that I have to have a girl!! But it doent matter if she comes next or not. We are just excited for this little blessing to come, and judging from the look of my countdown (days??..what was I thinking) its going to be a long haul!! So the countdown begins.....

Batman 2008!

Porter's Halloween got off to kind of a rough start, he had his 18 month check up, and had to get shots..NO FUN! And he didnt take a very long nap. So I guess its his Halloween and he'll cry if he wants to! Even though he was a little grumpy in the beginning, doesnt he make the cutest little Batman EVER!!? Anyways, our ward had the annual Trunk or Treat, so we headed off to get some candy for our little Super Hero! Our good friends Justin, Cara, and Porter's buddy Ryken came out for the 2nd year in a row to enjoy the festivities!!

This is the only picture I got of them together, Cara got better ones, so when she sends them to me I will post them! Batman and Eyore! So cute!!
Once we got there, he was ALL smiles and went crazy! He made it around the parking lot twice...once with Mommy, then with Daddy! He was satisfied with the first piece of candy, and wanted me to open every piece the minute he got it. It was hilarious!

Porter with Hudson...would this make Hudson Krypto the Super Dog?? haha.

Porter resting after a long night of Trunk or Treating...and candy...and cotton candy...and whatever else the kid inhaled in the short time we were there!! I think his face says "I think I'm gonna have a tummy ache!" while there is left over candy all over his face!

Porter and Ryken weren't the only ones getting in on the fun!!!

Gotta love the 80's! Cara and I made rediculous clowns out of ourselves, but its okay...you're allowed to be jealous! We are really wicked cool! Even though our husbands wouldnt claim us at first, we got plenty of compliments on how "right on" our workout costumes were!!

Kameron actually claimed me enough to get a family picture! It was such a fun night, thanks Cara and Justin for bringing Ryken out to run wild with Porter!

It was s successful Halloween, and even though Porter stayed up WAY too late that night...bouncing around the house like a crazy person on the biggest sugar high until after 10, we had so much fun!! Thats what Halloween is all about right?? Porter did so well, and was so hilarious to watch I already can't wait til next year!! Even though he wont remember this, I will and I have these pictures to cherish this sweet stage he is growing out of way too fast!!
