Memory Lane

I was looking through old pictures and seriously could NOT stop laughing when I found this one! It definately deserved a post of its own!!! Not only is he adorably fat, but how can you resist that cheesy grin! Its funny to see how he has always had his crazy personality, and we just love him for it! We love you Porter Monster!!

System Haywire!!

Anastyn is 4 weeks old today, I cant believe that a month has already passed by. To everyone else she is still so little, but to me I can tell she is so much bigger than she was. She got down to 6 pounds, and is now pushing 8! Its amazing how fast they grow, and all the cute little faces she makes without even knowing it. She is such a happy and content baby, and is being really nice to mommy and only waking up once at night to eat! I have been very blessed with great sleepers. Thats all she does all day and night is sleep. She has smiled at me a couple times...fluke or intentional, not sure. But she loves to be talked to and will just watch you. (thats when I got her to smile at me twice) We love having her in our family, and Porter just adores her now. Every morning he asks for "baby sisser" and will constantly say "Baby sisser so cute!" He has been such a big boy and is Mommy's little helper. If I need a diaper, blanket, remote...haha, he will get it for me. I will admit he has been very patient with me, because I dont do well with no sleep, and have a hard time getting to sleep after night time feedings that I am a little slow throughout the day. For example this morning...last night was a long night with Anastyn having what sounded like very painful bubbles in her tummy...I got Porter up and turned on cartoons and just kind of layed on the couch. After a little while I notice that Porter was no longer sitting on the couch next to me. So I hop up and run to find him (the last time he was quiet he was squirting Windex in his mouth and all over his room!) and this is where he is....

No big deal, right? Sitting at the table eating! Well the poor child was hungry and didnt want to wake me up to get him breakfast, so he just climbed up to the table where his plate of chicken FROM LAST NIGHT'S DINNER was STILL sitting...because his lazy mother didnt clean it up and throw it away. GROSS! It was then that I realized that I needed to get myself together for the sake of my child! Poor kid ate stale chicken with stale BBQ sauce because I was sleeping on the job...literally! A quick hug and a kiss from my happy little boy let me know that he still loves me despite my zombie-ness moments and I then made him some oatmeal and cinnimon rolls!

How long does it take to get the groove of two kids? Seriously?? I had my system of what I did every day...morning, noon, and night! I am a schedule person! Breakfast, first thing in the morning with a cartoon....lunch at noon, then naptime right after. Snack when we wake up, another cartoon, then playing til Daddy gets home. Now with feeding the baby, diapers...diapers...diapers, and more feeding the baby...my whole life has been thrown into a tizzy and I cant find time for laundry, mopping, laundry, dishes, laundry, vacuum, and did I mention laundry? After a month I thought I would have it down to a science...yeah, not so much. O'well, despite the disasterous house, and piles of laundry...my kids are fed, happy, and cute as ever. I guess thats all that really matters anyways. Alright now, I better make use of my quiet time and throw a load in the washer...or maybe I'll take a nap...

Our Family of Four

Last week we had a friend take Anastyn's Newborn pictures, and got a few family shots as well! I love how they turned out!! Thanks Chris! And we couldnt leave out Mr. Porter! Even though he can be a pain to get a picture of, he is sure cute when you can get one!! This is what I am talking about. Chris just let him run and play...and just followed him with the camera, and we got a LOT of amazing shots!

Anastyn and I hung out and did this while Porter and Dad spent over an hour outside playing. Porter had so much fun playing outside, and it was such an easy and cheap way to keep him entertained. We are going to have to do this a few times a week when the sprinklers turn on! I love Daddy's 3 days off because Porter is 10 times happier when he gets to hang out with Kameron! I am excited for all the fun things that are ahead of us this summer!

Mother's Day

I LOVE being a Mom! So obviously, I love Mother's Day.

Mommy and Anastyn...I swear we were looking much cuter earlier, but I forgot to get pictures while we were in our church clothes! Whoops.

Porter is aparently already in his teenage years, and would NOT get "off" my cell phone for a picture. This was the best we could get, but with a two year old...atleast he is sitting still and in the picture. I cant ask for much more, right?!

Not only is Mother's Day special because of my own little babies that I love so much, but because I have the BEST Mom in the world. Sorry to break the news to all you who think your Mom is the best, because mine takes the cake! She is so helpful, and has been so great over the past few weeks that our house has been thrown into chaos with the early arrival of our precious baby girl. I dont know anyone who can cook like she does, and of course there is the sewing. The talent just doesnt end.
She is selfless, kind, giving, and patient. I love you Mom and I hope you had a great Mother's Day!

And Happy Mother's Day to my Mother-in-law Karen! Thanks for everything that you do and have done for us. We appreciate you and how you love your family!! My kids are so lucky to have such a great Grammy and Grandma!

Lets Compare...

Do they look like brother and sister?! I think so. Kameron and I have thought from day ONE that they looked alike, and the more Anastyn matures (since she was 4 weeks early) the more she reminds us of Porter! This isnt the best anlge, but their features are pretty dang similar! The main difference is her big pouty lips, and she is a little darker like her mommy! (finally I get one with my skin!) Lets just keep our fingers crossed that she will get his beautiful green eyes!!

I Love My Babies!!!

Happy 2 week Birthday baby girl! Its already going way too fast!!!

Bye Bye Bili!!

Yesterday we had Anastyn's check up with the doctor, and had her blood work done to see if we could send the bili-blanket back to where it came from. And YEAH for her, we are all done with the light treatments. From this picture you cant really tell, but she is all cozied up in her bili-blanket...thats where the bluish hugh of light is coming from around her face. She also had gained back 8 ounces since we left the hospital, so she is doing great! She is such a good baby, hardly cries and is so content. All she wants to do is sleep! And when she is awake she loves to just watch her environment. Nights havent been too bad, she is only waking up twice a night, and some nights only once.

Porter is also really starting to love her! He always asks to "Hold it!" and holds his arms out. And in the morning he will ask for "baby sister" and want to love her. I am afraid he is going to love her too much, and that mommy is going to have to watch him every second so he doesnt try to "hold it" while mom isnt watching.

He holds her everyday, and here he is loving little Anastyn. She also had her very first sponge bath at home last week, and she didnt exactly love it.

But she looked so cute and we are seeing her funny facial expressions already! Thanks to daddy, I think all our kids will get this hilarious trait!

Porter also decided this week that he was going to make himself look like a beaten child! Saturday he got a bruise on his forehead from running in my aunt's yard and tripping on a rug, causing him to plummet head first into the cement! Sunday he was ridding his tricycle outside and hit the cement with his front tires and went over the handle bars busting his chin...once again on the cement! Then Monday morning, he was playing in the cabinet and after Dad told him to stop and Porter didnt listen...Porter hit the shelve inside just right, and split his lip open!! And just in time for family pictures tomorrow! His lip is what the picture is of above! Doesnt he look so proud of his battle wounds?!! Hopefully my baby girl will be a little more careful!
